Ok here we go...

Here is a humble attempt to share some of my experiences. Im not the greatest photographer, yet I try.
Some are Iphone pictures, some are from cameras not my own, but most are mine =)
I intend for this to be more of a photo journal than anything with some videos and some
text about what Im up to on the Big Island.

The tale of my first day...

So I woke up in a frenzy, Max wasn't up yet and it was snowing like mad outside. I couldn't get a hold of Max and had to call Gabe, and Sara Brown to wake him up. Finally we get it all together but it takes forever to get to the air port because of the snow storm.

Of course Im super late and the very last one on the airplane. I have a ton of stuff in my bag and it weights a lot.

I didnt check anything and some how got all my stuff past security. My bag was wayyy to big to be
a cary on but I got it on =) Oh wait $25 bucks to check a bag yeah right. The guy at gate check said
"how did this even get by security?" I pretended like it wasn't mine hah.

Super long flight layovers... I was so out of it i almost forgot my guitar on one of my flights.
This boisterous black woman flight attending looked at me shaking her head and said "I told you not to forget that...boy you scare me"

Finally I landed in Oahu at 10pm. I have 9 more hours until I arrive on the Big Island. I didn't know the terminal was closed and though that I could get my bag and get back into security and sleep the night. NOT. I had to sleep outside. I found a great spot with an outlet for my computer so I could watch a movie and 15 minutes after I settled in, (perfect spot by the way, had the leather massage chair...) this security guard kicked me out of the area, on two different occasions. I told him he was mean. Apparently Oahu airport isn't friendly.

While waiting in the airport I found a tile wall with all the islands of Hawai'i. I set up my camera to take a picture of myself and pointed to Hawi. A town that I wanted to visit so badly. This was a huge goal of mine.

I finally fly into Hilo and I get a call saying that whoever was going to pick me up can't so it may be a while. I passed out on a couch in Hilo airport. It was actually awesome. Best airport seating ever. Super soft big couches.

Michael and Sean finally picked me up at 8am. 28 hours after I left Denver. Almost no sleep. They tell me that if im up for it I can join the rest of the group on a bit of a field trip to a town to see Jim Channons Artesia. A stunning 3 acre art realm community, in.....HAWI!!. I had no idea I was in a car with strangers on my way to the very town I pointed to on the map just hours ago. The Universe ALIGNS!

HA!

My First Swim!
Horsie on the cliff!

We met up with about 20 others in Hawi, had a mystical and eye opening experience at Jim Channon's place, Artesia. Literally Art Realm

Look up Jim Channon Artesia, seriously, you will be blown away.
He has a lot of videos, not the best quality but really powerful.

I just got into Hawai'i, already checked off a HUGE goal of mine by magically getting to Hawi. I got driven around most of the Big Island, met 20 amazing people, went hiking, and played frisbee on black sand beaches, and swam in the Pacific all in my first 5 hours.

PEACE!

  1. PHER! I love the horsie on the cliff. O.M.G. My secret Hawai'i dream is to dance a midnight luau with a pig on a roast. I wont eat it, but it should be there none the less.
